Less Hype, More Football: Our Updated Open Sessions
Our updated Open Sessions timetable is up. If you saw the Less Hype post on Instagram, here’s what we mean by it and what your child can expect when they train with Link.
What I brought back from playing
I came through the youth setup at Kilmarnock, signed professionally and went on to play more than 400 games in non-league football. The coaches who made the biggest difference gave me honest feedback and time to work on it. They challenged me and gave me the confidence to try again when I got things wrong. That’s a big part of why I started Link.
Our team includes experienced grassroots coaches and former players. We want children to get plenty of touches, make decisions under pressure and take something from training into their next match. That might be a first touch that buys them time, spotting a pass earlier, or asking for the ball again after losing it.
Football is full of talk about academies, elite pathways and talent ID. At Link, we keep it straightforward. Turn up, work hard, make mistakes, learn and enjoy your football. Our job is to give every player the coaching and encouragement to keep getting better.
